  • It’s keenly priced and comes with useful software, but there are faster performing portable USB3 disks for only slightly more money. ...

  • Zusammenfassung:  Not as sleek as the new Edge series, the My Passport (formerly known as My Passport Essential) isn't without considerable appeal. Sure, i's a little chunkier than the Verbatim Mobile ...

  • Portable, Large capacity, USB 3.0 compatible
  • Backup software isn't the best out there
  • Priced at £89.99 in the UK or $129.99 in the US - where a smaller 320GB version is also available for $89.99 - the Western Digital My Passport Essential is definitely a worthy upgrade....

  • It comes with USB 3.0, Multiple colours
  • USB 3.0 performance isn't great
  • Usually external hard drives are much of a muchness, but if you want USB 3.0 speed and a better warranty, then in this case we'd go with Seagate instead.

  • It comes with USB 3.0. Multiple colours
  • USB 3.0 performance isn't great
  • Unless random write speeds are high on your priority list, Seagate's three-year warranty is more compelling than Western Digital's two when it comes to external drives....

  • Affordable; compact; range of colours to choose from
  • Not designed specifically for Mac; has only USB 3 interface, $99.95
  • If you want FireWire as well you’ll have to pay a little more for the Freecom or Verbatim drives, but this is a neat and affordable option if you’re happy with USB 2 for now (and the option of USB 3 in the future).Related Tags: guide, hardware, rating,...

  • Sleek design. Includes backup and password protection software. USB 3.0 is markedly faster than USB 2.0
  • Not the quickest USB 3.0 drive available
  • Western Digital's My Passport Essential USB 3.0 1TB is an adequate USB 3.0 drive, but it's not the quickest drive on the market....

  • The Western Digital My Passport 500 GB HDD retails at Rs. 4,299. It might be small and sleek but as far as storage is concerned, it’s just 500GB. The Seagate FreeAgent 1 TB retails at Rs. 5,000 and makes buying the My Passport a bad idea. Also, it does...
