The Olympus E-5 is a pleasant camera to use and is capable of some nice results. The body is solid and feels sturdy in the hand, with a wealth of buttons and functions that, once customised to your own way of working, allow speedy operation. For curre...

Like: Images shot at up to ISO800 are outstanding. We like the Olympus jpeg style, but if that doesn't appeal there is always RAW. The camera is very responsive and fast to focus and fire. There could be something in the claim to be the fastest autofocus
Dislike: The video function is poor. 720p doesn't cut it in this day and age when even compact cameras make a decent job of 1080i. But it is the incredibly slow, noisy and inaccurate autofocus in live view that kills enthusiasm for video
Fast burst mode, fast focusing, useful Live View mode and articulating screen
Noisy images, poor high ISO performance, hard to use
The Olympus E-5 is a digital SLR camera with lots of potential and plenty of speed, but it just isn't as good as competing models from Canon and Nikon. Its images aren't as well defined as we would like and noise affects photos when a high ISO speed is us...
Magnesium alloy construction. Weather-sealed. Art filters, especially the dramatic tone, are great. Excellent dynamic range. Speedy AF
No full HD video recording. Falls behind other competitors on top-line specs. Slow AF in Live View. No customisable card slots
The E-5 presents a good upgrade path for those amateur and professional photographers working with the Olympus Four Thirds system....

The Olympus E-5 does have its own share of negatives such as unpredictive AF in multi-point mode, slow AF in poor lighting conditions, very little customization and other such problems. However, it offers some of the best features in its segment. Some of ...
Zusammenfassung: At first use, the E5 is a very capable and rugged (though bulky) DSLR, with great stills as well as video; the swivel LCD is stunning. Then things get fuzzy. Why a four-thirds model at such a high bulk / weight/ price? Resulting in a full-size big-daddy...

Great picture quality for its class; fast performance; solid, weatherproof body construction; interesting Art Filters effects.
Non-customizable dual memory card slots; lower image resolution not suitable for cropping; heavy.
