Zusammenfassung: The YotaPhone 2, the successor to the original YotaPhone, was developed by a Russian company called Yota. Yota started off as a Russian mobile broadband provider and slowly began producing various pieces of hardware including smartphones. What really brou...
Like all niche phones, the YotaPhone 2 will not be holding a candle to any of the flagships anytime soon when it comes to the best all around experience. That having been said, this is the first niche phone that is actually worth recommending to people, a...
Additional ePaper screen, Decent build, Good voice quality, Decent cameras, Low absorption rates, Very good battery life
Non-expandable storage, No LTE Cat.6, EPD could be more focused and responsive, CPU throttling during load, Weak speakers
The YotaPhone 2 is the only smartphone in the market that features a second e-paper display. That largely prevents any usage restrictions even on sunny summer days, and it always ensures good legibility. However, the EP display does not make an absolutely...

Best daylight reading experience of any smartphone, Exceptional battery life using rear display, Smooth, comfortable, wellmade hardware, EPD makes an entirely new user experience possible
Falls short in some basic areas like keyboard responsiveness, Older hardware for a flagshipclass device, Older software with no defined upgrade schedule, Relatively expensive
So we come back to the question that started us off: is “the two-faced smartphone” the phone for you? And for most people, up to and including hardcore phone geeks, the answer will probably be no. Sure, the YotaPhone 2's battery life is very impressive, b...
Innovative second display, Quick alerts when phone is facedown, Sharp primary display
Primary display has mediocre endurance, Last year's CPU, No LTE option yet, Pricey
The YotaPhone 2 is an innovative dual-sided phone that lets you do all sorts of things with its power-sipping e-paper screen, but it's a very expensive combo....
Unique and attractive design that stands out, Both displays perform well, Vanilla Android is speedy, The e-ink display can really save battery life
Odd keyboard lag and some minor bugs, Expensive, Sound quality isn't the best
8.0 The YotaPhone 2 is an excellent idea, but high pricing and a few other quirks make it hard to recommend unless you are truly fascinated by the idea of dual-displays and don't mind paying a premium to get this experience....
A solid phone with a unique second epaper screen. Battery life is way beyond every expectation. Reading books, documents and even social media messages on the electronic paper display leaves the eyes less fatigued. It's like a mini Kindle, or like adding
The “YotaPanels” and some of their options are tricky to manage. Camera isn't great. Software is still buggy: reading a notification from the epaper display doesn't always clear it from the main notification bar. Traces of previous images stay impressed o
Zusammenfassung: I'm afraid that I've been ready to shrug and pronounce e-ink pretty well yesterday's news. While e-ink readers are still very much in evidence -- a half-hour's ride on the NYC subway will tell you that; there are usually at least a few people per car read...
Vastly improved rear screen, Prolonged battery life, Capable camera
Second screen can be fiddly/glitchy
We love that Yota has the balls to elbow its way into a crowded smartphone market and do something completely different, with the YotaPhone 2's innovative second display. But does the e-ink screen make enough impact to the overall experience to justify it...

The YotaPhone 2's rear e-ink display lets you read e-books for long periods without draining much battery -- a feature no other phone has. It has decent all-round specs and a good front screen too
Its high price puts it among the top-end phones, which it fails to justify. The e-ink screen suffers from ghosting issues, the software for customising it isn't particularly easy to use, the camera doesn't impress and there's no expandable storage
Although the YotaPhone 2's e-ink display is wonderfully novel, and can result in much better battery life, the phone needs to be considerably cheaper if it's going to be a sensible purchase over other Android phones....
